Platform Services Engineer

Opticore IT are currently searching for a Platform Services Engineer to join a large hospitality client. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in Microsoft identity, device management, automation, and core platform technologies. You will play a key role in designing, managing, securing, and optimising enterprise platforms across a modern Microsoft ecosystem.

Opticore IT is a specialist Network Engineer and Project Management consultancy offering a wide variety of opportunities to work within fast-paced, challenging environments across our client base spanning multiple sectors including Finance, Broadcast Media, Telecommunications and more.

This is a hybrid opportunity based in Dunstable.

What you'll be doing: Identity & Access Management

• Manage and optimise Entra ID (Azure AD) and Active Directory environments.
• Design, implement, and maintain Conditional Access policies and identity security controls.
• Lead integrations with enterprise applications, ensuring robust authentication and authorisation mechanisms.
• Troubleshoot complex identity, SSO, MFA, and synchronisation issues.

Endpoint & Device Management

• Administer and enhance Microsoft Intune for Windows 10/11 and Android device management.
• Work with SCCM (ConfigMgr) to support OS deployments, patch management, and application lifecycle management.
• Develop and maintain configuration baselines, compliance policies, and endpoint security posture.

Automation & Scripting

• Build, maintain, and improve automation workflows using PowerShell.
• Develop scripts to streamline provisioning, reporting, configuration, and operational tasks.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives through automation and standardisation.

Microsoft 365 & Exchange

• Support and optimise the Office 365 platform, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and associated workloads.
• Troubleshoot complex messaging and collaboration issues, ensuring service reliability and user experience.
• Implement retention, compliance, and governance configurations within M365.

What you'll bring:

• Strong experience in enterprise-scale Microsoft environments.
• Deep hands-on expertise with Entra ID, AD, Conditional Access, Intune, SCCM, PowerShell, and Office 365.
• Good understanding of cloud concepts, Azure services, and DevOps practices.
• Ability to diagnose complex technical issues across diverse platforms.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across IT functions.
• Proven ability to deliver improvements, automate processes, and maintain secure, reliable services.
