The opportunity of this manufacturing finance lead job in Galway:

Based in Galway on a hybrid basis, this Finance Leader job offers you influence, impact and reward, as you lead operational decisions and strategic direction for 4 manufacturing plants with c1500 staff, in a world-class organisation.

Becoming part of the Manufacturing Units' Leadership team, you will partner with the Managers of Engineering, Production and Quality to drive performance across the four factories, ensure site-wide and global manufacturing performance targets are achieved.

Your job as Manufacturing Financial Controller:

As a hands on finance business partner to the 4 manufacturing units (MU), you will:

  • have direct impact on increasing performance, growing margins and reducing costs for your MUs
  • support and drive MU performance improvements (both financial and operational) by understanding the products, manufacturing processes, KPIs and financial performance of your MUs and identifying focus areas
  • lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, long term planning, variance analysis and month end management accounting related activities for your MU
  • interact with external 3rd party suppliers and internal manufacturing sites globally to provide inter site connection between them and the Galway's finished goods plant
  • identify and lead cost reduction initiatives, including creating effective product cost models and managing the standard costing process
  • business partner with Senior and Executive management teams to complete scenario analysis of both operational and strategic decisions, as well as investment appraisals including CAPEX & OPEX spend review, and appraisal of costs of integrating new business to the Galway site
  • increase efficiencies in processes, procedures and internal controls (corporate, SOX, GAAP), ensuring accurate analysis of headcount, production, expenses, O/H spend, direct labour, scrap and capital in your MU

As the Finance Representative on numerous cross functional project teams, you will identify, lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives, both within finance and across the business.

What you'll need to succeed:

To be successful in this Finance Leader job, you will call upon your Costing, FP&A and Business Partnering expertise in global manufacturing (circa 10+ years PQE). You will be a Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with excellent analytical skills and an innate ability to influence various stakeholders at all levels and functions, as you drive continuous improvement in a multi discipline global environment.
