Due to continued growth, a well-established and highly regarded planning consultancy is seeking to appoint a Planner and/or Senior Planner to join its expanding team.

This is a small, close-knit practice delivering an exciting and diverse portfolio of projects across North Wales and Cheshire, including involvement in major infrastructure schemes alongside a broad range of residential, commercial, rural and mixed-use developments. This opportunity offers meaningful responsibility within a supportive environment where your contribution will directly influence projects and clients.

The Role

You will work as part of a consultancy team alongside Directors and senior colleagues, contributing across all stages of the development and planning process. The role provides exposure to varied and often complex projects, requiring a proactive and solutions-focused approach.

You will have the opportunity to work on key regional projects including:

Tourism and leisure projects

Commercial and industrial developments

Projects supporting town centres and local economies

Major infrastructure and strategic development proposals

Key responsibilities will include:

Preparing and managing a range of planning applications and appraisals, including specialist planning reports and documents, often working within multi-disciplinary teams

Supporting delivery of major and local development projects

Site promotion work in relation to emerging Development Plans

Liaising with clients, local planning authorities and consultees

Contributing to project strategy and problem-solving

Given the diversity of the workload, the ability to manage your own time effectively, prioritise tasks, and resolve issues independently is essential.

About You

We are seeking motivated individuals committed to a long-term career in planning and development, with strong technical grounding and commercial awareness.

MRTPI achieved (for Senior Planner level) or actively working towards chartership

Strong analytical, report writing and presentation skills

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team

Commercial awareness with an interest in marketing, client engagement and innovation

Preferred Requirements:

Master's degree in an RTPI-accredited subject

Ability to confidently speak and write in Welsh

Experience will determine whether appointment is made at Planner or Senior Planner level.

What's on Offer

Competitive salary commensurate with experience (up to £45,000 per annum)

Company pension

Discretionary annual bonus (performance related)

Genuine opportunities for career progression within a growing business

Positive and supportive team culture

Active calendar of client and staff social events, including an annual European study tour

Strong commitment to flexibility and work-life balance

Full support for professional development, including:

Payment of professional memberships

Structured support toward achieving RTPI chartered status

This role is ideal for an ambitious planner looking to broaden their experience, take on responsibility, and grow with a dynamic and respected regional consultancy.
