Planner / Senior Planner

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Planner or Senior Planner to join a well-established and highly regarded planning consultancy based in Exeter. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a wide range of projects across the South West while developing your career within a supportive and collaborative team.

This role would suit an ambitious planner looking to take the next step, gain greater responsibility, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality planning advice across a diverse project portfolio.

The Role

You will be involved in delivering planning services across a variety of sectors, including:

• Residential and mixed-use developments
  
• Commercial and employment schemes
  
• Strategic land promotion
  
• Rural and regeneration projects
  

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing planning applications from inception through to determination
  
• Preparing planning statements, reports and supporting documentation
  
• Providing clear and strategic planning advice to clients
  
• Liaising with local authorities, stakeholders and consultants
  
• Supporting business development and maintaining client relationships
  
• Contributing to project strategy and problem solving
  

At Senior Planner level, you will also take on additional responsibility for project delivery, client management, and mentoring junior colleagues.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience within a planning consultancy or local authority
  
• A strong understanding of the UK planning system
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  
• The ability to manage projects independently
  
• A proactive and commercially aware approach
  

You will ideally be:

• MRTPI Chartered, or actively working towards Chartership
  
• Keen to develop your career within a growing consultancy environment
