About the Role

We are seeking full-time and part-time permanent Pig Specialists and Senior Pig Specialists to join our farms in Canterbury, working at our Bardfield farm near Dunsandel and our J-Shed Growout unit near Burnham. The successful candidates will have a minimum of one year's experience working with pigs in an intensive/indoor production system.

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrating best practices in animal handling, health, and welfare
• Moving, drafting, and weighing pigs while ensuring accurate records are maintained
• Performing health checks, providing appropriate nutrition, and administering treatments
• Managing the daily care of pigs to ensure their comfort and well-being
• Documenting animal movements, breeding statistics, and health reports.

About You

• Possess strong written and numerical skills for accurate data recording
• Be able to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively collaborate within a team
• Maintain physical fitness to meet the demands of the role
• Have a proactive approach to animal welfare and a strong attention to detail
• Maintenance skills (welding and general maintenance) would be highly desirable
• Hold a valid driver's licence.
