Key Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Physics lessons across a range of programmes and qualification levels.
- Develop practical laboratory activities that promote scientific enquiry and critical thinking.
- Assess student work, provide timely and constructive feedback, and monitor learner progress.
- Support students through academic tutoring and pastoral guidance where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessment, and achievement.
- Contribute to curriculum planning, quality improvement, and departmental initiatives.
- Participate in open days, enrolment events, and other college activities.
- Ensure safe working practices are followed in laboratories and practical teaching environments.
- A degree in Physics or a closely related discipline.
- A recognised teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one, where applicable).
- Experience teaching Physics in further education, higher education, or a relevant educational setting.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to inclusive teaching and supporting learners from diverse backgrounds.
- A postgraduate qualification in Physics or a related subject.
- Experience delivering practical laboratory sessions.
- Knowledge of current Physics curricula and assessment requirements.
- Experience using virtual learning environments and digital teaching technologies.
- Experience contributing to curriculum development and quality enhancement.
