Job Description

The main purpose of this role will be to support pre production builds by obtaining and maintaining delivery promises from external supplier. Ensuring delivery promises meet build requirements / escalating issues. Parts are owned from dispatch to receipt in storage locations and building supplier relationships is an integral part of the role while ensuring all NRP (Non Released Parts) are delivered on time.

Key Roles and Responsibilities of PFEP Engineer
  • Manage transportation of materials and prototype parts across multiple locations.
  • Work closely with transport coordinators to meet OTIF targets.
  • Handle urgent requests for material and part deliveries.
  • Track and trace shipments, resolving customs issues.
  • Negotiate delivery dates with suppliers to support multiple prototype builds.
  • Coordinate production slots with internal tool rooms and 3D printing operations.
  • Visit key suppliers to review and improve delivery performance.
  • Adopt Agile methodologies to overcome supply obstacles.
  • Chair supplier meetings to review part supply status and resolve issues.
  • Achieve departmental objectives and support relevant prototype build activities.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Full UK driving license with less than 6 penalty points.
  • Knowledge of inventory requisition scheduling and fleet management systems.
  • Understanding of premium freight and customs requirements for imports and exports.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly with spreadsheets and databases.
  • Experience managing supplier portfolios and production schedules.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interpret logistics data.
  • Ability to work to and achieve KPIs.
  • Experience with transport management systems.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Knowledge of the latest logistics technologies and processes.
  • Familiarity with GPIRS / CMMS, SAP, Microsoft SharePoint, Tableau, and Macros.

Job Type: Contract

Duration: 6 months

Salary: £32 per hour
