The Role

Barber McLelland is working with a leading independent firm of Accountants based in Doncaster who are looking to appoint a Personal Tax Semi Senior/Senior to join the firm's Tax Division.

Due to recent restructuring, this newly created position of Personal Tax Semi Senior/Senior will help support a diverse portfolio of clients, this includes High Net Worth Individuals, Entrepreneurial Business Owners, Partnerships and Directors.

The business would like to consider individuals with a minimum of 3 years personal tax compliance experience with the ability to manage their own allocation of clients.

Duties and Responsibilities

The role of the Personal Tax Semi Senior/Senior will be responsible for:

• Providing personal tax compliance services for a varied portfolio of clients, including processing of tax returns, ensuring returns are processed accurately and delivered to agreed service standards
• Management of client information, ensuring businesses submit all appropriate information for the completion of tax returns
• Ensure that the client's tax liability is correctly calculated and the client is advised accordingly
• Communicate directly with clients and HMRC regarding tax compliance matters on the phone and in person
• Ensure compliance with current legislation and prepare working papers

Skills and Qualities

We are ideally looking for an individual who has a minimum of 3 years personal tax experience working within a firm of accountants. A formal tax or accountancy qualification is not a prerequisite. The successful individual will have a strong understanding of tax compliance or a practice accountant looking to make a transition into taxation.

Salary and Benefits

• £32,000 - £40,000
