Job Description
- Annual Salary: £30,000 to £35,000
- Location: Tottenham N17
- Job Type: Full-time permanent - this is a fully office-based role Monday to Friday. There is no hybrid working.
We are seeking a dedicated Permit Coordinator to join a busy organisation in the local area.
This role is ideal for someone with a passion for the highways industry and a proven track record in managing permit applications and liaising with local authorities.
The successful candidate will ensure efficient management of road space bookings and compliance with relevant legislation.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Raise permit applications based on work descriptions for submission to the Highways Authority.
- Keep all permits and notices updated and ensure works are on track, requesting extensions if needed.
- Liaise with Project Managers and Supervisors to manage road space bookings efficiently.
- Input and update permitting information using Excel and Teams.
- Build and nurture relationships with Local Authorities and other stakeholders.
- Monitor inspections of reinstatement and address any challenges with FPN and inspection data.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Prior experience in raising permit applications within the highways industry.
- Familiarity with the New Roads & Street Works Act 1991, Traffic Management Act 2004, and the London Permit Scheme.
- Strong organisational and administration skills.
- Tech Savvy: Proficient in street works management systems; experience with Insight/Symology is a plus.
