We are delighted to offer a highly motivated individual the opportunity to join our well integrated team at the Freeman Hospital for a unique Royal College of Surgeons of England approved Peri CCT Fellowship in Reconstructive, Functional and Robotic Urology. The fellowship is the only one of its kind in the UK and is available from October 2027 for 12 months.
The post holder will undertake clinical duties within the Department of Urology, including the middle grade emergency on call rota, advanced female and functional urology training, and robotic surgery. Clinical research is required with the aim of presenting and publishing results, and there will be opportunities to teach, audit and develop a portfolio for future consultant applications.

- Provide clinical care and training in advanced female and functional urology, including robotic surgery.
- Participate in the middle grade on call rota and cross speciality work with urogynaecology.
- Undertake clinical research and aim to publish and present findings.
- Engage in teaching, audit, and portfolio development for consultant application.
- Maintain compliance with the New Deal and EWTD.
- Primary medical qualification.
- Full MRCS.
- Full GMC registration or eligibility within 3 months (or 6 months for non EEA applicants).
- 4+ years of specialty training in Urology.
- Intercalated BSc or equivalent.
- Evidence of research activity.
- Hold CCT in Urology.
- Completion of training to a minimum of ST6 standard (Urology national curriculum).
- Previous experience in female and functional urology.
- Sound clinical judgement and self reflective practice.
- Good history, examination and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to order investigations and interpret images.
- Knowledge of appropriate escalation to senior colleagues.
- Broad experience in urology and general surgery.
- Commitment to a career in Reconstructive and Functional Urology.
- Exposure to robotic urology (introduction to robotics course).
- Written evidence of satisfactory training to date (e.g., workplace assessments).
- Contribute to teaching and learning in the clinical setting.
- Experience teaching undergraduate medical students and junior doctors/nurses.
- Participation in departmental training sessions.
- Understanding of audit and research importance.
- Active participation in audit projects.
- Publications relevant to chosen subspecialty.
- Research experience.
- Current Good Clinical Practice certificate.
- Effective communication with patients and colleagues.
- Teamworking with multidisciplinary professionals.
