Job Description

Bristol and South Gloucestershire Swimming Club (BSG) in Somerset wishes to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced swimming coach to lead the club's age group performance group. This position comes with the benefits of a PAYE contract and has full or part-time options.

About Bristol and South Gloucestershire Swimming Club

BSG is one of the South West's premier swimming clubs with around 850 swimmers. We teach learn-to-swim, have recreational, competitive and performance pathways, masters and dedicated provision for para and those with additional needs. The role provides the successful candidate with the opportunity to lead a squad of county, regional and aspiring national level swimmers, be one of the lead coaches within a wider team, and be part of a club that has over 20 national level swimmers.

Coaching Role
  • To have a squad responsibility for our age group regional squad.
  • As one of the club's lead swimming coaches, play an important role in leading specific aspects of day-to-day club operations.
  • To attend competitions - as part of paid overtime.
  • To guide less experienced coaches, work collaboratively with the wider team and take direction from the Head Coach and Performance Director.
  • Early morning work and evening work, including weekends.

Qualifications Required / Safeguarding Compliance
  • We welcome applications from swimming coaches who hold at least the Swim England Swimming Coach Certificate (or ASA Level 2 Award).
  • Willingness to undertake pool supervision qualification such as NRASTC.
  • A UK driving licence and/or the ability to travel to different swimming pools within/around Bristol.
  • Up to date Swim England Safeguarding Certificate or to commit to complete this before starting.
  • The right to work in the UK.
Hours and Contract type

The role can be full or part time. Hours include early morning and evening work, including weekends. Contract type: PAYE.
