Our client is seeking a dynamic People Services Manager - Compliance to join their People & Culture team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the Compliance function and drive a culture of accountability and continuous improvement!
About the Role:
As the People Services Manager - Compliance, you will ensure that all People policies, procedures, and practises align with employment law, regulatory requirements, and internal governance standards. You will work closely with People teams, external partners, and regulators to foster an environment that promotes exceptional colleague and customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
People Management:
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of People specialists.
- Foster a culture committed to customer excellence and compliance.
- Create a collaborative and positive work environment.
Policy Governance and Compliance Oversight:
- Oversee the People policy framework, ensuring legal compliance and best practises.
- Manage relationships with legal advisors and regulatory bodies.
Risk Management and Audit Readiness:
- Maintain the People & Culture risk register and ensure compliance with audit requirements.
- Lead evidence collection for audits and embed learnings into business as usual (BAU).
Process and Data Compliance:
- Ensure People processes adhere to internal controls and data protection standards (including GDPR).
- Conduct regular audits of HR data quality and identify improvement opportunities.
Continuous Improvement:
- Drive automation and digitalisation of People processes for enhanced efficiency.
- Own the end-to-end experience for People and Culture innovation.
Reporting and Insights:
- Develop compliance dashboards and provide timely updates to senior leadership.
- Ensure transparent communication with internal and external stakeholders.
People Systems & Design:
- Contribute to the strategic direction for People systems, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
- Oversee risk management and maintain senior-level relationships with Technology and external providers.
Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with Business Partners and governance teams to support a strong compliance culture.
- Act as the subject matter expert for all People compliance matters.
Essential Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
Skills:
- Strong understanding of employment legislation and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and solutions-focused.
Experience and Qualifications:
- CIPD qualified or equivalent HR qualification preferred.
- Extensive experience in HR compliance, audit, or governance roles.
- Experience in regulated sectors (eg, housing, care) is advantageous.
