People Services Administrator

  • Job Type: Temporary, Full-time (Office Based)
  • Contract Duration: 2 months
  • Pay: £14.19 - £15.62 per hour PAYE (depending on experience)
  • Working Hours: 9am till 5pm (Monday - Friday)
  • Location: Swinton, Manchester, M27 8US

GM Fire and Rescue are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity within their People Services Advice team for an enthusiastic Administrator. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a lively environment and is keen to make a significant impact through excellent administrative support.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Engage with various corporate databases and utilize Microsoft packages to perform daily tasks.
  • Analyze data to enhance processes and improve the administration service offered.
  • Provide a defined administrative service for the Directorate, acting as the first point of contact for the shared phone line.
  • Support across a range of activities including scheduling, communication management, data entry, and maintenance of office resources.
  • Maintain and develop effective administration processes to meet the changing demands of the organisation.
  • Support campaigns and events, ensuring smooth operation and coordination.
  • Serve as a first point of contact for basic queries, responding promptly and escalating when necessary.
  • Build effective relationships within the HR & OD team and with external customers, ensuring collaborative work across the directorate.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven track record in an administrative role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Excellent organisational skills to handle demanding workloads.
  • Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with a diverse range of people.
  • Experience in handling confidential information and understanding of the Data Protection Act.
