People Business Partner

Department: People Directorate

Contract: Permanent, Full Time

Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Reporting to: Head of People & Organisational Development

Salary: £65,854 per annum

We are looking for an experienced People Business Partner to join our People Directorate. This is a key role for someone who can help leaders create a great experience for our staff and volunteers, so they can deliver outstanding care for patients, families and communities.

You will bring strategic thinking, strong employee relations experience and practical HR expertise as well as a values-led approach.

About the role

As the People Business Partner, you will act as a trusted partner working closely with senior managers offering specialist guidance and coaching managers to drive changes across the organisation.

You will lead on employee relations matters, support workforce planning, organisational restructures, policy development, performance management.

The role will also be our Freedom to Speak Up Lead and will contribute to projects to improve our culture and people experience.

About you

You will be an experienced HR professional with a strong ER and business partnering background, confident advising senior managers and handling complex employee relations, organisational change, policy development.

MCIPD qualified, or with equivalent experience, you'll use data insight and clear communication to influence decisions and build trusted relationships across the organisation.

You will be approachable, collaborative and values-driven, with empathy, sound judgement and a practical, solutions-focused mindset.

Person Specification Qualifications
  • ESSENTIAL: MCIPD qualification (or equivalent experience) and evidence of continued professional development relating to HR best practice and employment law.
  • DESIREABLE: N/A
Experience
  • ESSENTIAL: Significant experience of managing, and supporting managers with, complex employee relations cases.
  • DESIRABLE: Line management experience within human resources, including management of HR professionals
