- Review and improve HR processes, systems, templates, guidance and self-service tools.
- Ensure HR activity remains compliant with employment legislation, organisational policy and governance requirements.
- Provide day-to-day guidance and support to the HR Officer, helping to build confidence, consistency and capability.
- Work collaboratively across HR, Talent Acquisition and L&D to deliver an integrated People service.
- Contribute to wider People projects, organisational change and continuous improvement initiatives.
About you
You will be an experienced HR professional, ideally operating at HR Advisor, Senior HR Advisor, People Advisor or HR Generalist level, with a strong understanding of the employee lifecycle and confidence providing practical advice to managers.
You will have experience dealing with routine employee relations matters, including performance, conduct, absence and probation, alongside a good working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice. Experience of owning or improving HR processes, systems or ways of working will also be important.
We are looking for someone who is approachable, organised and solutions-focused, with strong communication and relationship-building skills. You will be comfortable balancing competing priorities, working with an appropriate level of autonomy and using sound judgement to determine when matters need to be escalated.
Experience of supporting organisational change, coaching junior HR colleagues or working within a regulated, education, charity, membership or professional services environment would be advantageous. Experience of using technology, automation or AI-enabled tools to improve HR delivery would also be welcomed.
CIPD Level 5 or equivalent professional experience would be advantageous.
Why this role?
This is an opportunity to join an organisation at an important point of change and play a key role in improving the day-to-day experience of managers and colleagues.
You will have genuine ownership of important HR processes, the opportunity to influence how HR services are delivered and exposure to a broad range of People activity. Working alongside the HR Manager, you will also contribute to the development of the organisation's longer-term People operating model.
Macildowie is managing this appointment as the recruitment partner. The organisation and further details will be discussed confidentially with shortlisted candidates.
The organisation is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and welcomes applications from candidates with a broad range of backgrounds and experiences.
