About the Role

We are looking for a Project Consultant to join our Admin Project Team (APT), a highly experienced, specialised project resource with approximately 85 staff. APT manages projects ranging from data cleansing and benefit rectification to buy outs, wind ups, and ad hoc scheme closures. This role is client facing and requires strong stakeholder management and project delivery skills.

  • Act as a client point of contact and explain complex issues.
  • Attend client and trustee meetings to present project updates.
  • Set and achieve project delivery deadlines within scope and budget, securing client sign off on fees and scope.
  • Ensure projects are delivered within agreed budgets, identify out of scope work and discuss billing timely with clients.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives.
  • Complete and review calculations for pension benefit data using manual and spreadsheet methods.
  • Collaborate with Client and Administration Managers on project delivery requirements and stakeholder management.
  • Communicate confidently with HMRC, clients, schemes, actuaries, administrators, consultants, payroll, members and third parties by phone, email and letter.
  • Check and authorise other team members' work, ensuring quality and accuracy.
  • Apply benefit structure, Trust Deed & Rules, Inland Revenue guidance, PSO, and disclosure requirements.
  • Provide technical information both verbally and in writing.
  • Comply with ISO and AAF accreditations.
  • Support the delivery of a continuous improvement programme, championing operational excellence.
  • Provide general support to the team manager.
Your Profile Essential
  • Demonstrable experience in pensions project or BAU pensions administration roles.
  • Experience with Defined Benefit (DB) pensions schemes.
  • Commercial acumen to plan, manage, track and deliver project revenue within budget.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage resources and operational delivery to meet revenue targets.
  • Technical pensions and data projects knowledge to explain complex issues to stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheet functions (Index, V LookUp, PivotTable).
  • Ability to resolve issues by identifying solutions for effective project delivery.
  • Proven leadership in project delivery, providing strategic direction and coaching team members.
  • Clear, concise communicator of complex project issues in both verbal and written form.
  • Team orientation towards achieving targets.
  • Proactive, driven and committed.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive working environment and championing diversity.
Desirable
  • Professional qualifications such as PMI, QRA, RPC, DPC, DPA, or progress towards full qualification.
