PE Teacher

Flourish Education is looking to appoint a PE Teacher for a secondary school in Coventry, starting in September 2026 and continuing until July 2027. This is a long-term teaching opportunity for a PE specialist to teach students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 and support their progress throughout the academic year.

You will take responsibility for delivering PE lessons, tracking student progress, maintaining good classroom behaviour, and helping students develop their practical and theoretical understanding of the subject. The role also includes supporting wider sporting activities and school events where required.

Job Role:

• Teach Physical Education across KS3 and KS4
• Prepare and deliver lessons that support students with different abilities
• Develop pupils' practical skills, knowledge and understanding of PE
• Monitor attainment and provide feedback to support student progress
• Promote participation in sport, fitness and healthy lifestyles
• Maintain appropriate behaviour and high expectations during lessons
• Work collaboratively with the wider PE department
• Assist with extracurricular sport, fixtures and school events where required

Required Skills and Experience:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a PE specialism - ECTs are encouraged to apply
• Previous experience teaching Physical Education within a UK secondary school
• Strong subject knowledge and experience across a range of sports
• Ability to plan and deliver lessons independently
• Effective classroom and behaviour management skills
• Ability to adapt teaching to meet individual student needs
• Reliable and professional approach to teaching
• A satisfactory reference from your most recent employer

This PE Teacher position is based in Coventry and is easily accessible from Finham, Earlsdon, Canley, Tile Hill, Binley, Coundon, Radford, Bedworth, Nuneaton, and Kenilworth. The school is well connected by public transport and has onsite parking available.
