Job Description
Knutsford Medical Partnership are looking to recruit a newly qualified (less than 2-years post CCT) salaried GP for 6-sessions per week. Sessions across 3-days and will include a 12-8pm (extended access shift) on a rota basis.

Knutsford Medical Partnership are a friendly training Practice across 5 sites. We have 11 GP Partners and 12 salaried GPs. We have a large administration team and excellent nursing support across sites. We are forward thinking and have number of ARRS (clinical pharmacists, physicians associate, social prescriber and first contact physiotherapist) staff.

Main duties of the job Knutsford Medical Partnership deliver GMS services, minor surgery, chronic disease management etc. to around 23,500 patients. We are looking for the post holder to expect to develop their role to become a fully integrated member of the Practice Team being involved in all aspects of GMS work, home visits, administrative work (including team meetings), QOF and enhanced service delivery.

The role will include acute care (triage) working alongside peers to support on the day demand alongside routine surgeries.

Job responsibilities Hours of work: 6 sessions per weekplus equitable shares of home visits and an extended access (on a rota basis)

Contract type: Part time salaried GP position

Role summary: The post-holder will provide general medical services managing acaseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting,ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporarypatients

Annual leave: Six weeks annual leave plus public/ bankholidays (FTE pro rata)

Study leave: In line with BMA model

Main purpose of the role:

To support the GP partners, to manage a busyand interesting clinical caseload. The appointee will also have the opportunityto take part in leading on key disease areas (monitoring trends in treatment,staff training and prescribing) and assist in developing appropriate healthcareservices for a diverse, patient list (practice based commissioning, patientparticipation and health promotion. This is a GMS Practice).

Clinical responsibilities:

In accordance with the practice timetable, asagreed, the post-holder will make him/her-self available to undertake a varietyof duties including surgery consultations and emergencies, telephoneconsultations and queries, triaging, visiting patients at home, checking andsigning repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, patient test results, referralletters (NHS/private), paperwork and correspondence including patient medicalreports and examinations (e.g. Insurance Companies) on behalf of the Practicein a timely manner;

Making professional, autonomous decisions inrelation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from otherhealth care workers within the organisation;

Recording clear and contemporaneous I.T. based consultationnotes to agreed standards;

Extended hours as agreed by the partnership.

Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute andrepeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible);

Prescribing in accordance with locally agreed ornational guidelines.

In general the post-holder will be expected toundertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GPworking within primary care.

Other responsibilities with the Practice:

Teaching and training of doctors and nurses;

Awareness of and compliance with all relevantpractice policies/guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, dataprotection, health and safety, annual QOF Assessment of the Practice.

A commitment to life-long learning and audit toensure evidence-based best practice;

Contributing to evaluation/audit and clinicalstandard setting within the organisation;

Contributing to the development of computer-basedpatient records;

Attending training, Practice Meetings and eventsorganised by the practice or other agencies, where appropriate.

Meet all tight timescales/deadlines for audits andwritten returns to ensure that the Practice meets quality standards andreceives the designated funding (e.g. Quarterly Enhanced Services returns,annual QOF audit etc.)

Work with the Partners and Management Team toachieve standards of quality, performance standards, budgets and targetswithout compromising levels of patient healthcare.

Contribute towards the development andimplementation of new standards, policies and procedures that are/will berequired of GP Practices now and in the future (as directed by NHS/ DoH/ SHA/ CCG,new legislation etc.)
