Job Description

Corporate Services - Head Office Payroll

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Subject Matter Expert(SME) to join our Human Resources Information System (HRIS)transformation project, supporting the implementation of UKG andPayroll Metrics across our organisation. This is a fantasticopportunity for a seasoned payroll professional to play a pivotalrole in a high-impact project with a collaborative andforward-thinking team.

The Role

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will serve as the primarypayroll and workforce management (WFM) expert throughout theimplementation lifecycle - from requirements gathering anddesign through to testing, go-live and hypercare. You will act as the bridge between our payroll operations team and the technicalimplementation team, ensuring the solution is configured to meetour business and compliance requirements.

This is a full-time contract engagement. We will also consider a part-time contract engagement requiring a minimum of 3 days perweek, with the potential for additional days during key projectmilestones such as testing and go-live.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the Payroll and Workforce Management SME across allimplementation phases and collaborate closely with People &Culture, Finance, IT and implementation partners
  • Lead requirements gathering, solution design validation,testing and go-live support
  • Define and document cost centre structures including GLmappings, ensuring alignment between payroll and finance
  • Provide chart of accounts and General Ledger extract tosupport payroll journal configuration and financeintegration
  • Define, document, validate and configure areas such aspayroll calendars and pay codes including earnings, deductionsand allowances.
  • Define, interpret and map Modern Awards, EnterpriseAgreements (EAs) and National Employment Standards (NES)including leave rules into system configuration
  • Develop comprehensive payroll test cases and scenariosacross Awards and EAs
  • Oversee payroll parallel runs and User Acceptance Testing(UAT)
  • Support payroll data migration and validationactivities
  • Develop payroll process documentation, SOPs and usertraining materials
  • Provide hypercare support post go-live
About you

You are a highly experienced Payroll SME or Senior Payrollprofessional with proven involvement in HRIS or payroll systemimplementations.

You bring:
  • Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, ModernAwards, EAs and Single Touch Payroll (STP)
  • Proven capability mapping complex Award and EA conditionsinto payroll systems
  • Experience building detailed payroll test scenarios andvalidation cases
  • Solid understanding of GL principles, chart of accounts andpayroll journal processing
  • Experience working closely with Finance teams on payrolland GL integration
  • Experience with payroll parallel run testing and UAT
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously in a project-drivenenvironment
  • Flexibility to increase days during critical projectmilestones
  • Hands-on experience with UKG (UKG Pro, UKG Ready, orDimensions) and/or Payroll Metrics
  • Experience in Agile or hybrid delivery environments will behighly regarded.
