About the Job

We're looking for a Payroll Specialist to join our team, acting as the internal subject matter expert for payroll across the UK, Ireland, and Nordics. You'll lead all aspects of payroll delivery, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a best-in-class employee experience. This includes managing external payroll partners and supporting internal teams with payroll insights and advice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the payroll lead for the UK, Ireland, and Nordics, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time.

  • Manage outsourced payroll providers, ensuring service delivery aligns with SLAs and local legislative requirements.

  • Oversee and validate payroll inputs including starters, leavers, contractual changes, overtime, bonuses, and deductions.

  • Run regular audits and complete all SOX reconciliations and statutory reporting, including P60s and P11Ds.

  • Ensure accurate and timely pension administration, including auto-enrolment opt-ins/outs and reporting.

  • Stay informed on payroll legislation and lead continuous improvement of payroll processes.

  • Serve as the main point of contact for payroll-related queries, supporting employees, HR, and managers.

  • Collaborate with HR on related activities such as maternity leave management and general employee support.

  • Support the rollout of manager and employee self-service tools, including training and troubleshooting.

About You

  • Deep knowledge and hands-on experience in payroll management and administration.

  • Excellent Excel skills and familiarity with payroll software.

  • Strong understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and employee benefits.

  • Experience managing high-volume payrolls (500+ employees) in the UK.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.

  • Able to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines effectively.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Location & Working Style

This is a hybrid position, based either in our Central London office (UK) or Warsaw (Poland). You'll typically be in the office 2-3 days a week (Tuesday-Thursday), with flexibility depending on business needs.
