Job Description
Responsibilities 
- End to end ownership of payroll processing across assigned entities and jurisdictions, ensuring accuracy, completeness and timeliness of all payroll activities.
- Managing multi country payroll operations, coordinating with in country payroll providers and ensuring compliance with local tax, statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Execution and oversight of payroll cycles (monthly/bi weekly where applicable), including validation of inputs, approvals and payroll sign off.
- Acting as the primary point of contact for payroll queries, escalations and issue resolution across employees, management and stakeholders.
- Preparation and review of payroll reports, including variance analysis and payroll reconciliations to ensure integrity between payroll, HR and finance systems.
- Ownership of payroll related reconciliations, including control accounts, statutory balances and payroll to general ledger alignment.
- Ensuring compliance with statutory obligations, including tax filings, year end reporting (e.g., P60s, P11Ds, PSA) and relevant submissions across jurisdictions.
- Managing pension and benefits related payroll activities, including auto enrolment and coordination with benefit providers where applicable.
- Maintaining accurate payroll data and cost allocations across payroll and HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday, Payspace, ADP or equivalent systems).
- Supporting and enhancing payroll systems and integrations, identifying opportunities to streamline payroll data collection, processing and reporting across multiple platforms.
- Liaising with internal stakeholders (HR, Finance, Legal) to ensure seamless payroll operations and alignment across functions.
- Managing relationships with external stakeholders, including payroll vendors, tax authorities and system providers to ensure service delivery and compliance.
- Supporting audit processes and strengthening payroll controls, ensuring all payroll documentation, reconciliations and processes meet internal and external audit requirements.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives across payroll processes, systems and controls to enhance efficiency, scalability and compliance.
- Supporting onboarding of new countries, entities and payroll models as the organisation expands.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role with end to end payroll experience covering multiple payrolls.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Extensive knowledge of PAYE, NI, SSP, SMP, P11D, RTI and auto enrolment.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisational and numeracy skills.
- Experience using Workday.
- Accounting experience.
- Experience with Navision/Business Central/ADP streamline.
- Knowledge of payroll systems and UK statutory payroll legislation.
- In depth knowledge of sports betting markets, odds calculation, betting types and market trends.
- Previous experience in the online gaming or casino industry with a strong understanding of player behaviour and industry regulations.
- Familiarity with gambling regulations and compliance requirements in various jurisdictions.
