Job Summary:

About the role & team

To oversee and ensure accurate processing of all UK payroll-related issues, ensuring employees receive correct remuneration on the published pay dates, and that the Company meets its contractual obligations. Manage the day-to-day workload of assigned payrolls in accordance with set timelines to ensure accurate delivery. Comply with all statutory and contractual obligations. Establish internal and external stakeholder management, including the payroll provider, to ensure smooth operations at all times.

What You Will Do

  • Responsible for all monthly interface files to SAP, integrating with the global system accurately and efficiently. Scrutinise and validate data with precision.
  • Oversee and manage end-to-end payrolls, working with the UK Payroll Analyst at all times.
  • Validate and approve T&A entries (TDS payroll specific).
  • Check and validate all maternity cases, including specific benefits and pension requirements.
  • Check and validate all tax forms and generic input.
  • Mentor and guide payroll administrators and interns as a senior team member, resolving escalated payroll queries professionally and promptly.
  • Collaborate with internal partners on payroll issues, problem-solving as needed.
  • Identify trends or risks in payroll and introduce improved processes.
  • Input and check manual calculations for partial month and backdated payments during the month.
  • Calculate and raise manual payments within SAP where applicable.
  • Handle complex overpayment cases for leavers, reversing and replacing final payslips for accuracy.
  • Analyze variance reports, justify variances, and implement additional controls.
  • Manage payroll-related General Ledger functions and ensure data accuracy for finance stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with the Compensation and Benefits team to ensure correct application of benefits.
  • Process pensions according to scheme rules and manage stakeholder relationships.
  • Participate actively in team meetings, training, and events.
  • Manage shared mailboxes, keeping them updated and escalating complex queries.
  • Assist with payroll audits and projects as required.
  • Ensure compliance with Auto Enrolment and RTI requirements at all times.
  • Participate in recruiting payroll interns and administrators.
  • Ensure accurate processing of Enhanced Holiday Payments in line with legislation.
  • Maintain payroll compliance during monthly SAP payroll processing.
  • Work with Global HR Operations to ensure accurate data in SAP.
  • Required Qualifications & Skills

    • Essential SAP knowledge.
    • Up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation (PAYE, Court Orders, NICs, Statutory Payments, etc.).
    • Experience processing high-volume payrolls (3000+ employees).
    • Experience reviewing and developing payroll procedures and policies.
    • Ability to apply current legislation to payroll functions.
    • Ability to identify potential risks to the company.
    • Full GDPR compliance.
    • Knowledge of benefits and their impact on PAYE and NICs.
    • Experience with payroll reconciliations and balance checks.
    • Experience with HMRC monthly and annual returns.
    • Ability to deputise for Payroll Manager and Analyst.
    • Understanding of Auto Enrolment and RTI procedures.
