Our head offices are based in the beautiful village of Hook Norton near Banbury. Here, you'll find our teams in finance, HR, purchasing, marketing, and creative support across all Thomas Franks locations. Ample parking is available when visiting.
We are seeking a Payroll Officer to join our team at our Head Office in Hook Norton.
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, this role involves working with a payroll team of 3 within a wider finance team of 19. The ideal candidate will have strong payroll knowledge and attention to detail, enjoy working in a small, fun environment, and aim to deliver high-quality, accurate, and timely payroll services.
Main Responsibilities:
- Managing payroll for our European division, including UK and Scotland payrolls ( 2,500 employees).
- Coordinating with up to 10 European bureaus monthly and liaising with operations teams across countries to meet deadlines.
- Entering and importing variable overtime and casual hours.
- Processing new starters and leavers, and liaising with payroll bureaus for European payrolls.
- Processing contract amendments and calculating back pay.
- Calculating sick pay, maternity, and paternity pay manually, considering multiple policies.
- Manually calculating gross to net pay, not solely relying on system outputs.
- Generating payroll reports, payslips, P45s, P60s, and statutory year-end returns.
- Preparing and sending payroll sign-off reports and BACS authorization forms.
- Supporting payroll and pension administration tasks.
- Running payroll from start to finish, including month-end processes.
- Managing payroll queries via email and resolving them promptly.
- Contributing to process and system improvements within the payroll team.
- Training staff on payroll procedures and best practices.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years payroll experience handling similar volumes.
- Experience working with overseas payroll bureaus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
