What you'll gainA permanent opportunity offering real ownership and variety in your work. You'll report directly to the Financial Controller, gaining exposure to broader finance activities while managing payroll end-to-end. The organisation offers hybrid working, with two days a week in the office, and flexibility around how you structure your working week.
You'll be part of a collaborative, supportive finance team where continuous improvement, trust, and professional development are encouraged.
What you'll do- Manage and process monthly payroll accurately and on time for all employees
- Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with HMRC and pension regulations
- Support the preparation of payroll journals and reconciliations for finance month-end
- Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate and timely updates to employee information
- Review payroll processes and identify opportunities for automation and improvement
- Act as the key point of contact for payroll queries and internal stakeholders
- Contribute to broader finance initiatives and system improvements alongside the Financial Controller
- Strong end-to-end payroll experience, ideally within a medium to large organisation
- Excellent knowledge of payroll legislation, HMRC reporting, and pension administration
- High attention to detail with strong numerical and analytical skills
- Confident using payroll software and Excel
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with excellent communication skills
- Experience working closely with finance and HR teams
