Job Description

Payroll Manager - £60,000 - £80,000 + Bonus - City of London

Frazer Jones are delighted to be supporting a leading law firm on the recruitment of a Payroll Manager to join on a permanent basis.

Our client is offering hybrid working with 3 days per week required into the office.

The Role:

  • Coordinate, review, and support the accurate and timely processing of monthly payrolls for both London and international offices.
  • Manage and provide oversight to the Payroll Specialist, ensuring effective performance and development.
  • Compile and present monthly payroll reports for management approval.
  • Maintain a strong internal control environment for payroll processes, ensuring full documentation and recommending enhancements where necessary.
  • Process monthly and ad hoc payments to Partners as directed by the Partnership Accountant.
  • Assist in the preparation and posting of payroll-related journal entries into the accounting system.
  • Oversee statutory payroll filings, including the Employer's Annual Return (P35), Forms P14 and P60, and support the preparation of the PAYE Settlement Agreement; manage the issuance of P45s.
  • Generate internal and external payroll reports on a regular and ad hoc basis.
  • Administer payments and perform reconciliations for Partners, employees, and third-party providers.
  • Prepare and submit pension scheme data to the firm's pension advisers and providers.
  • Manage payments related to employee benefits such as season ticket loans, insurance, and gym memberships.
  • Collaborate with HR to ensure seamless data transfer to the Payroll team.
  • Liaise with the Tax & Partnership Department on payroll matters concerning in-pat and ex-pat employees.
  • Respond to and resolve UK payroll-related queries.
  • Undertake additional ad hoc tasks as required.

Skills required:

Strong UK Payroll exposure.

Ideally working within professional services.
