Payroll Clerk

Salary: £25,235.00-£28,797.07 depending upon experience.

Location: One Stockport Exchange, Stockport, Greater Manchester.

Contract type: Permanent.

We are looking for a Payroll Clerk to join our busy Payroll team at our Shared Service Centre in Stockport.

Role: Full Time 37 hours per week Monday to Friday. Currently a hybrid of office based 3 days per week, and home working 2 days per week, though the home working element is optional.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll for approximately 1200 employees on a weekly cycle.
• Ensure timely receipt of data from Stagecoach locations to meet strict deadlines.
• Enter data into the Workday payroll system.
• Calculate pay associated with paid and unpaid leave such as sickness absence, annual leave, parental leave.
• Perform accuracy checks per departmental procedure and conduct self audit.
• Respond promptly to queries from internal and external customers.
• Handle administrative tasks associated with payroll.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Previous payroll experience advantageous but not required; full training will be provided.
• Computer literate with strong knowledge of MS Excel.
• Excellent customer service skills and a friendly, approachable manner.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• GCSE Maths and English.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, flexibly between core hours of 07:30 and 18:00, with a need to front load more hours at the beginning of the week.
