Payroll & Benefits Specialist - 6 month Fixed Term Contract

Heat Merchants Group is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Specialist to join our Finance team on a fixed-term contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll and benefits administration for over 340 employees across our nationwide branch network.
Working closely with Finance, HR, Branch Management and external providers, you will help ensure payroll operations are compliant, efficient and delivered to the highest standards.

JOB SPECIFICATION
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring the accurate and timely end to end processing of the monthly payroll
- Accurately calculating and processing BIK deductions for a large sized Company fleet
- Administering third party deductions, i.e. Pension, VHI, Social Welfare, LPT
- Managing and reconciling all necessary submissions to ROS, Pension Provider, ERR, Auto Enrolment etc.
- Managing and address all payroll queries in a timely manner
- Prepare and compile specialised payroll reports when required.
- Manage the time and attendance system, highlighting absences, connecting with managers and employees on their time keeping including obtaining relevant paperwork and accurately
- recording all absences.
- Adhere to Company policies and procedures
- Any other duties as reasonably requested by Management

PERSON SPECIFICATION
The successful candidate must:
- Have or be working towards a payroll qualification (IPASS or equivalent)
- Have a minimum of 4 years recent experience in a similar role covering end to end payroll processing
- Have experience in managing a large in-house payroll i.e. in excess of 150 employees
- Have experience in updating and maintaining a time and attendance system
- Possess a high level of attention to detail and integrity
- A proven ability to observe discretion and confidentiality at all times
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment, meeting tight deadlines and quickly adjusting to change
- Excellent organisational skills
- Proficient user of MS Office, particularly Excel
Preference will be given to those candidates who, in addition to the above criteria, have experience in calculating Benefit in Kind for a company fleet and of working with SAGE Payroll including Advanced Report Writer.
