Payroll Analyst UK & IE (6 months placement)

This is a 6-month placement role based out of our London office with a hybrid working model.
Our Team
As a UK Payroll Analyst, you will assist our Payroll Lead in coordinating the inputs needed for processing payroll in our UK locations using our in-house payroll solution, Workday.
What you'll be doing
- Liaise with internal HR partners to collect and organise payroll data, ensuring understanding of data.
- Collect, check, and input timekeeping information via our time and attendance system.
- Liaise with Payroll Lead on submissions and review of payroll data within agreed timeframes, including reviewing P45s, new starter declarations, pension enrolment, SMP, parental leave, and general absences in line with company policy.
- Assist with handling queries from employees, internal partners, and vendors.
- Assist the Lead with the collation of the monthly payroll, including reviewing inputs and outputs for reasonableness and completeness.
- Prepare and reconcile payments to HMRC and third parties.
- Participate in discussions with vendors regarding payroll issues, ensuring proper handling and risk mitigation controls.
- Address inquiries from internal teams such as HR and Finance.
- Run payroll reports and assist with payroll reconciliation, ensuring data is downloaded and stored properly.
- Support team-wide initiatives and projects as needed.
Requirements
- Passion for food.
- Strong payroll experience in a similar role.
- Solid understanding of payroll processes and regulations.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Knowledge of UK payroll legislation, tax, and NIC.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, including with vendors.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proactive problem-solving skills.
- Questioning mindset towards processes and reasons.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Workday payroll processing experience is preferred.
