Payroll Administrator
£30,000 p/a Hybrid LS27 7NA
We're recruiting on behalf of a growing, well-established business in the Leeds area for an experienced Payroll Administrator to join their busy Payroll and Finance function. This is a great opportunity to work across multiple UK entities, gaining broad exposure to multi-site payroll operations within a supportive, collaborative team.
You'll report into the UK Payroll Manager and work closely with HR and Finance to ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time, every cycle.
Start Date: 1 September 2026
What You'll Be Doing:
- Assisting with the preparation and processing of weekly and monthly payrolls
- Validating payroll data ahead of payment runs
- Maintaining and updating employee payroll records and spreadsheets
- Processing new starters, leavers, and contractual changes
- Producing and issuing P45 documentation
- Updating tax codes, student loan deductions, and statutory changes from HMRC
- Supporting PAYE, National Insurance, pension, and statutory payroll submissions
- Reconciling payroll reports and providing data to Finance for payroll funding
- Supporting auto-enrolment and company pension scheme administration
- Preparing pension reports and assisting with pension payment submissions
- Calculating statutory payments including SSP, SMP, and SPP
- Handling employee payroll queries relating to pay, tax, deductions, and pensions
- Assisting with payroll variations such as salary changes and wage increases
- Helping ensure payroll processes remain compliant with HMRC legislation
What Our Client Is Looking For:
- Previous experience in a payroll administration or processing role
- A solid understanding of UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines
- Good Excel and data-handling skills
- Confident, professional communication skills for resolving payroll queries
- A collaborative, team-oriented approach
- Experience with Sage 50 Payroll or a similar system is desirable
- Experience with time and attendance systems is beneficial
