UPMC Children's Community Pediatrics is hiring a Full-Time Payment Application Specialist II to support the office in a hybrid role.
Purpose:
Responsible for the posting and balancing of payment and adjustment transactions including electronic processes. Responsible for posting denials, patient and insurance refunds.
Responsibilities:
- Adhere to Human Resource policies and procedures.
- Responsible for entering self-pay, insurance, and manual exception payments into the Epic billing system.
- Perform batch audits.
- Review manually posted payments and adjustments for accuracy.
- Responsible for entering payments/non-payment denials into the Epic billing system.
- Responsible for meeting departmental goals on a daily basis.
- Process third-party reimbursements with guidelines set forth in the department. Initiate the refund process to ensure timely return of misdirected revenue.
- Provide back up support for other staff members who perform various departmental functions.
- Process reimbursements to multiple billing systems and automated systems as required.
