Main area Spine Grade NHS AfC: Band 4 Contract Permanent Part time - 18.75 hours per week (Working from the office is required). Job ref 321-TP B4

We are seeking to appoint a part time Patient Pathway Administrator to join our friendly Spinal Surgery team working across the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre and John Radcliffe Hospital sites. Post holder must work from the office.

Responsibilities
  • Designated point of contact for Consultants and clinic teams, supporting a seamless patient pathway within the Elective Access policy.
  • Ensure compliance with 18 week referral to treatment (RTT) targets, intervening where necessary to expedite appointments or surgery.
  • Support patients through relevant diagnostic investigations, expediting work in line with the 6 week diagnostic pathway and 18 week RTT pathway.
  • Maintain accurate Electronic Patient Records (EPR) and patient databases, attaching correspondence and recording clinic outcomes.
  • Manage all correspondence, ensuring urgent matters are addressed and paperwork is scanned to electronic notes promptly.
  • Provide administration for outpatient clinics and theatre bookings, proactively managing over booking or under booking issues.
  • Schedule appointments and surgeries to maintain effective clinic and elective activity, notifying the Line Manager and/or Clinical Team of cancellations or changes and arranging new appointments.
  • Extract data from EPR, run reports, and share information with the wider team as required.
  • Cover for leave and sickness to ensure service continuity.
  • Escalate potential issues to the Line Manager and/or Service Manager.
Qualifications and Experience
  • GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths, grades A C
  • Previous experience within the NHS/public sector
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high paced environment, multitask, and re prioritise workload in response to changing service needs.
  • Team player, proactive, organised, and committed to delivering the best possible administration service.
