Pastoral Manager - Secondary School

Location:Bolton
Start Date:September 2026
Salary:£120 - £160 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract Type:Full-time, term time only

We are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate Pastoral Manager to join a supportive secondary school in Bolton from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated pastoral professional who is passionate about supporting young people, promoting positive behaviour, and helping students overcome barriers to learning.

The Role

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting student wellbeing, behaviour, attendance, and safeguarding across the school. Working closely with senior leaders, teaching staff, parents, and external agencies, you will help create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all pupils.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Supporting students with behavioural, emotional, and social needs
  • Managing pastoral interventions and behaviour support plans
  • Promoting positive behaviour and attendance
  • Liaising with parents, carers, and external professionals
  • Supporting safeguarding and student welfare procedures
  • Providing mentoring and guidance to vulnerable students
  • Assisting with reintegration and inclusion support strategies
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Previous experience working within a secondary school pastoral or behaviour role
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills
  • Experience supporting students with SEMH or additional needs
  • A calm, resilient, and empathetic approach
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures within education
  • The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
