Job Description 6 Month Contract With A local AuthorityJob Purpose
To support and supervise Passenger Assistants within the School Transport Team, ensuring safe, effective, and high-quality transport services for students across Plymouth. The role focuses on staff support, training, performance management, and maintaining strong operational standards.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and support Passenger Assistants across the Plymouth area
- Travel to various locations, including accompanying Passenger Assistants and students on transport routes when required
- Deliver classroom-based training for Passenger Assistants
- Manage performance, including providing feedback, addressing issues, and supporting absence management processes
- Respond to queries from parents, schools, Passenger Assistants, and transport operators, including handling challenging situations
- Complete Health & Safety documentation, including incident reports and investigations
- Maintain accurate records using internal systems and databases
- Support continuous improvement of service delivery
- Undertake additional duties appropriate to the role as required
- Access to a vehicle for travel across Plymouth
- Enhanced DBS check
- Proven supervisory experience, including performance management, training, and absence handling
- Experience delivering training in a classroom setting
- Understanding of Health & Safety practices
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and database systems
- Ability to work independently and use initiative
- Positive, can-do attitude and a good sense of humour
- Experience working with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
- Hours: 29 hours per week, Tuesday to Friday
- Pay: Bi-weekly payments
- Location: Plymouth (travel required across the local area)
