Part Time School Cleaners

Hours: Part-time (Monday to Friday 4.30pm - 6.30pm)

Contract: Temporary part-time

Location: Local school

We are seeking reliable and diligent Part Time School Cleaners to join a friendly site team. The successful candidates will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• General cleaning of classrooms, corridors, toilets, staff-room and communal areas
• Emptying bins and ensuring waste is disposed of correctly
• Cleaning and sanitising surfaces and high-touch areas
• Sweeping, mopping and floor care (including basic equipment use)
• Replenishing supplies (soap, paper towels, toilet rolls)
• Reporting maintenance issues and ensuring areas are secure when finished
• Adhering to health & safety, COSHH and safeguarding procedures

Essential requirements

• Must have an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check

Desirable skills and attributes

• Previous cleaning experience, preferably in a school or similar environment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
• Good timekeeping, reliability and a strong work ethic
• Awareness of safeguarding responsibilities and maintaining confidentiality
• Basic communication skills and a positive attitude
