Painting & Decorating Lecturer (Full-Time)

Location: Rhondda Campus
Start Date: Asap
Contract: Full-Time, 37 Hours per Week
Duration: Minimum 6 Weeks (Initially to Half Term)

We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Painting & Decorating Lecturer to join a well-established Further Education department on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity to support learners, share your industry expertise and make a positive impact on the next generation of construction professionals.

The Role

As a Painting & Decorating Lecturer, you will deliver engaging and practical lessons to learners studying construction programmes at Level 2. You will be responsible for teaching, assessment, learner support and contributing to the overall success of the curriculum.

Working Pattern

  • 37 hours per week
  • 24 teaching hours per week
  • 8 hours on-site administration and associated duties
  • 5 hours remote working for planning, preparation, assessment and related tasks

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality Painting & Decorating teaching sessions.
  • Assess learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Support learners to achieve positive outcomes and progression opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records and complete associated administrative duties.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and quality improvement activities.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.

Candidate Requirements

We would welcome applications from candidates who have:

  • Experience teaching Construction-related subjects within Further Education.
  • Experience delivering and assessing programmes at Level 2.
  • Strong vocational knowledge and current industry experience within Painting & Decorating or the wider construction sector.
  • Relevant teaching qualifications such as PGCE, Cert Ed or equivalent, although this is desirable rather than essential.
  • Relevant vocational qualifications within a Construction discipline.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and learner engagement skills.
  • A passion for developing learners and supporting achievement.
