Packaging Repro Manager - Midlands - £35-£40k pa depending on experience

Overview

This role is a Packaging Repro Manager at our client company, responsible for ensuring high quality packaging production and technical management.

Key Accountabilities

• Technical Management - Provide packaging repro & print technical management including pre production assessment, creating production technical specifications, technical approval of artwork and repro, press approval, print challenge resolution, value optimisation, colour harmonisation, and technical support to the packaging team.
• Technical Consultancy - Deliver technical consultancy on packaging repro & print, support packaging manager in developing repro and proofing capability, provide ongoing technical support to onsite production controllers and account team, act as escalation point for print quality, colour and print management matters.
• Pre production - Attend pre production meetings to assess print feasibility, establish repro and print specifications, create production technical brief, approve artwork masters.
• Repro & Proofing Production - Lead production of packaging repro (primary) and artwork (secondary), manage production and release of approved files to printer via FTP.
• Colour Management - Lead customer's packaging colour management strategy for consistency across substrates, formats, processes, inks and finishes; support hardware and software agenda.
• System and Process - Contribute to continuous improvement of packaging production systems and processes.
• Quality Management - Develop and maintain effective quality control processes and procedures.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• Able to communicate at all levels with production colleagues, customers, and printers.
• Build and maintain strong customer and colleague relationships.
• Conversant with key briefing and production requirements for packaging artwork and pre press.
• Experience with online project management and approval systems.
• Expert knowledge of packaging artwork & repro software, including Adobe and Esko suite.
• Working knowledge of template driven artwork creation and QC software applications.
• Detailed technical understanding of all packaging print processes and materials, print production tools, and printed packaging formats.
• In depth knowledge of colour management, harmonisation, measurement and proofing.
• Extensive experience in pre press industry with packaging printers/converters.
• Ability to resolve technical challenges with printers.
• Exceptional eye for detail and high quality standards.
• Ambition to be industry leading.
• Experienced in production and management, capable of producing industry standard repro.
• Team collaboration skills to nurture new knowledge and skills.
• Circa 10 years of experience in packaging artwork and repro.
