Come and join JLR as a Packaging & Operations Analyst - Logistics, working within the Freight Operations Group that supports inbound freight, packaging and finished vehicle distribution across our manufacturing network. This role sits within the Leased Packaging Contracts Management team and works closely with JLR manufacturing sites across the UK and Europe, playing a key part in how parts move smoothly into our plants.
In this role, you'll be involved in the day to day management and control of leased packaging, working with suppliers, service providers and internal teams to ensure containers are available, correctly used, and supplied to parts vendors on time and to the required standards. You'll help resolve operational issues, analyse data, and ensure processes and charges align with the service being delivered, contributing directly to efficient and reliable production operations.
This is a hands on logistics role suited to someone who enjoys problem solving, working with multiple stakeholders and understanding how systems, data and physical operations connect. You'll gain broad exposure across JLR's logistics operation, support ongoing improvements, and play a meaningful part in delivering cost effective, high quality parts flow into our manufacturing plants.
What to ExpectYou can expect a varied and rewarding role, where your day to day will involve tasks such as -
- Lead and contribute to weekly operational review meetings with logistics service providers, driving effective communication and issue resolution
- Support financial year budget planning and complete detailed monthly cost analysis to identify trends, risks and variances
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement and sustainability initiatives, aligned with Hypercompetitive reviews and JLR Enterprise objectives
- Review and investigate supplier rejections, identifying root causes and ensuring corrective actions are implemented and sustained
- Collaborate with IOPD teams to support and define packaging requirements for new programme development
- Deliver cross functional continuous improvement projects, owning activities from initial development through to successful implementation
- Support the annual audit and account reconciliation process, ensuring accuracy, compliance and robust financial control
- Take ownership of resolving parts vendor account rejections, managing ongoing account issues and driving timely resolution across stakeholders
We're looking for someone with the right blend of experience, qualifications, and practical skills, including -
- Previous experience within freight, packaging or logistics would be beneficial, ideally within a manufacturing or operational environment
- A good working understanding of supply chain operations, processes and day to day practices
- Strong analytical capability, with confidence interpreting data and identifying patterns, trends and variances
- Experience or awareness of project management approaches and continuous or process improvement activities
- Experience using SAP / S4HANA and CMMS, or similar enterprise and asset management systems
- Experience working with packaging related data, including reporting or control processes
- Flexibility to travel infrequently to JLR manufacturing facilities across the UK and Europe, as well as to suppliers and service providers when required, with a full valid UK driving licence
