About The Role

Working Hours: 35 hours per week

Contract Type: 2 x Full-Time, Permanent

Additional Payments: 6.7% Flexibility Payment, Casual Car User Allowance

The team operates an eight week rolling rota consisting of Earlies 06:00 - 12:30; Day 09:00 - 16:30; Evening 13:00 - 20:30. During periods of extreme cold weather when the temperature is at zero degrees or below overnight there will be the added requirement to work nights on a rotating shift pattern. Night time Outreach would be between 21:30 - 04:00

  • 2 References - where possible we require 3 years' employment history
  • DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance - Enhanced disclosure check. Appointable candidates will be required to apply for DBS check. Information provided will be handled confidentially.

This is a rewarding role which involves working face to face with Manchester's homeless community. The role involves identifying support needs for eligible clients and making appropriate referrals into temporary accommodation.

This role is crucial to reducing rough sleeping in Manchester and to ensuring that homelessness is as brief as possible and non-reoccurring.

This is an extremely rewarding but challenging role which offers opportunities for knowledge building and training. Rota includes day and evening shifts and occasional weekend work, with a 6.7% flexibility payment for this.

About The Candidate

The successful candidate will be empathetic, have strong people skills and be passionate about ending homelessness. You will be a flexible and motivated worker who can deal with rapidly changing situations and work in a fast paced environment, using a holistic approach. You will liaise with clients who are rough sleeping, agencies and managers about ongoing issues and work collaboratively to ensure rough sleepers receive correct support into different accommodation options.

We are looking for staff who are flexible, resilient and hard working, with a passion for reducing homelessness and an understanding of the challenges faced by individuals experiencing homelessness.
