Job Description

Job Title: Domestic Abuse Outreach WorkerLocation: Coventry (with travel across the city)Contract Type: Full-Time

A long-established women's organisation is seeking a dedicated Domestic Abuse Outreach Worker to join its Coventry-based team. This role focuses on supporting women and children affected by all forms of domestic abuse, both within the community and across the organisation's services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop tailored support strategies for women and children experiencing domestic abuse.
  • Deliver outreach support through drop-ins, surgeries, and community engagement.
  • Develop policies and practice guidelines in line with organisational procedures.
  • Stay informed on legislative changes and emerging issues in domestic abuse.
  • Build links with existing projects and community services to develop joint initiatives.
  • Design and implement monitoring and evaluation processes to assess service impact.
  • Facilitate workshops, group sessions, and training for professionals and community groups.
  • Improve identification and referral pathways into the service.
  • Participate in multi-agency meetings and collaborative work.
  • Support and collaborate with trained volunteers and community champions.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Experience supporting vulnerable individuals, particularly in domestic abuse settings.
  • Strong understanding of the impact of domestic violence on individuals and families
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and relevant legislation
  • Empathetic, resilient, and non-judgemental approach
  • Ability to speak a BME, Eastern European, or African Caribbean language.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
  • Willingness to travel across Coventry as part of the role.
