We currently have an Operational Technology Maintenance Engineer position based in Totnes. This is a full-time, permanent role offering a salary of £37,450 to £44,940 per year plus excellent benefits.

About the role

As our OT Maintenance Engineer, you will repair and maintain critical remote plant and process control systems, supporting the safe and efficient delivery of operational services. You will perform planned maintenance and respond promptly to operational issues, conducting onsite analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex problems.

You will also have the opportunity to identify and carry out small capital investment schemes to enhance operational resilience, using established project and change governance. The technology base includes sensors, instrumentation, plant networks, PLCs, SCADA, process control, and telemetry.

What you'll be doing:

• Performing planned and proactive maintenance on instrumentation and control systems to improve process reliability and performance
• Responding to operational issues with onsite analysis and resolution
• Participating in a 24/7 standby roster for out-of-hours maintenance
• Collaborating with operational teams to prioritize and coordinate maintenance activities
• Using technical knowledge to recommend process improvements
• Assisting with root cause analysis of plant failures and performance issues
• Engaging with standards engineers to ensure compliance with legislation and standards
• Managing firmware/software updates and security patches
• Promoting a health and safety culture and ensuring compliance with legislation and policies

What we are looking for:

• At least 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, including Mathematics, English, and a Science subject (or equivalent)
• Relevant industrial control apprenticeship, qualifications, or training
• Experience with process control and ELV/LV electrical systems
• Experience with PLCs, including management and programming, especially on Schneider platforms
• Knowledge of instrumentation calibration and maintenance
• Strong IT skills and technical aptitude
• A full UK driving license and ability to travel using a company vehicle
• Ability to complete UK Government Security Clearance (SC)
