OT Engineer - 12 months - Onsite - Netherlands

The client, a leading company in the FMCG sector, is looking for a skilled and motivated Operational Technology Engineer. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast paced manufacturing environment focused on innovation, reliability, and continuous improvement. You will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing a variety of OT systems, including PLCs, SCADA, HMIs, and automation technologies, while working closely with different departments to support and improve overall production performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and improve the interaction between diverse control systems to support efficient and stable manufacturing operations.
• Collaborate with teams across Production, Logistics, Engineering, Maintenance, IT, and Quality to integrate and optimize OT solutions.
• Conduct routine maintenance and swiftly troubleshoot OT system issues to prevent production disruptions.
• Implement and manage cybersecurity measures to safeguard OT infrastructure and ensure data integrity.
• Identify improvement opportunities and introduce new technologies or methodologies that contribute to operational excellence.
• Provide training and technical support to operational staff, ensuring proper and safe use of OT systems.
• Act as a key technical partner in understanding operational challenges and turning them into effective engineering solutions.

Profile & Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience working with OT, automation, or control systems-preferably within a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
• Strong knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems.
• Hands-on experience with Siemens S7 and TIA Portal is essential.
• Familiarity with ISA95 and ITIL standards.
• Understanding of cybersecurity practices in an industrial setting.
• Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive mindset.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical colleagues.
