Job Overview An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Orthopaedic Scrub Nurse to join a dynamic surgical team in Southend-on-Sea on an ongoing locum basis. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and check orthopaedic instruments, equipment and consumables prior to surgical procedures

• Provide skilled scrub support to surgeons during orthopaedic operations

• Maintain a sterile field and adhere strictly to infection prevention and control standards

• Work collaboratively with the wider theatre team to ensure safe and effective patient care

• Support post-operative procedures and assist in patient recovery care

• Ensure accurate documentation in line with professional and organisational standards

Person SpecificationEssential

• Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner with valid NMC or HCPC registration

• Proven experience working as a Scrub Nurse within orthopaedics

• Strong understanding of aseptic technique and theatre protocols

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment

Desirable

• Additional post-registration theatre qualifications

• Evidence of continued professional development
