Job Description

On behalf of AWE, we are looking for an Oracle Database Developer (Inside IR35) for a 12 Month contract based onsite in Gosport.

Note: SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position, (and speed at which we require a postholder in situ), preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Oracle Database Developer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust Oracle database solutions that support our business-critical applications. You will collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and reliability of our database systems.

Responsibilities
. Design, develop, and maintain Oracle database solutions across the full software development life cycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and ongoing support.
. Write and optimise SQL and PL/SQL queries to meet dynamic business needs.
. Perform data migration, transformation, and conversion tasks, as required.
. Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues efficiently to minimise downtime and disruption.
. Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with internal and external standards.
. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless database integration, testing, and deployment
. Analyse user and business requirements to design scalable and effective database solutions.
. Document database structures, processes, and changes to support transparency and maintainability.
. Contribute to the continuous improvement of database development practices and standards.

Knowledge and Experience

Essential
. Proficiency in Oracle tools and technologies, including SQL, PL/SQL and Oracle APEX.
. Proven experience as an Oracle Database Developer, or similar role.
. In-depth knowledge of Oracle database technologies and tools.
. Familiarity with database design and development methodologies.
. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
. Experience in the management of software change, including version control, release processes, and change tracking.

Desirable
. Experience with Oracle Forms, and Oracle Reports.
. Knowledge of Microsoft Azure DevOps and database migration strategies.
. Experience with Oracle APEX Office Print (AOP) for generating dynamic documents and reports.

Please be aware that this role can only be worked within the UK and not Overseas.
