An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and patient-focused Optometrist to join one of Cornwall's leading optical and audiology practices based in the heart of Truro.

This large, modern practice has recently undergone a significant refit and is equipped with the latest clinical technology, including two OCT machines, six consulting rooms, and three dedicated audiology rooms. Supported by a highly experienced team of 30 optical professionals, this is an excellent opportunity for an Optometrist looking to develop clinically while working within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

Role Purpose

As an Optometrist, you will provide exceptional eye care services while delivering a personalised and professional experience for every patient. You will play a key role in maintaining high clinical standards, supporting the development of enhanced services, and contributing to the continued success of the practice.

You will also have the opportunity to support the next generation of clinicians through pre-registration supervision while developing your own clinical and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to the highest clinical standards.
  • Deliver tailored recommendations based on patients' visual needs and lifestyle requirements.
  • Detect, manage, and appropriately refer ocular conditions where necessary.
  • Utilise advanced clinical technology, including OCT, to support clinical decision-making.
  • Provide exceptional patient care and build long-term patient relationships.
  • Supervise and support a pre-registration Optometrist.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider practice team to ensure a seamless patient journey.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with professional and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in continuing professional development and enhanced clinical services.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of clinical excellence within the practice.

Qualifications and Experience Essential

  • GOC-registered Optometrist.
  • Ability and willingness to supervise a pre-registration Optometrist.

  • Desirable
