About the role: As Operations Manager at JCB Cab Systems, you'll play a critical leadership role in driving operational excellence across our manufacturing operations. You'll take ownership of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People (SQDCP) performance, ensuring our operational targets are achieved while creating an environment where teams can thrive.

Working closely with colleagues across Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Maintenance and senior leadership, you'll be responsible for bringing teams together, driving continuous improvement and delivering sustainable operational performance. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on both our people and our business results.

What does this role involve day to day?
  • You will provide leadership and direction across all operational departments.
  • You will drive the achievement of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People (SQDCP) targets.
  • You will develop and execute operational strategies that support business objectives and future growth.
  • You will lead, coach and develop Production Managers, Group Leaders and teams across Production, Maintenance and Facilities.
  • You will ensure resources and capacity are effectively planned to meet operational requirements.
  • You will identify and deliver opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency and overall operational performance.
  • You will take ownership of continuous improvement programmes, embedding a culture of operational excellence.
  • You will manage operational budgets and ensure effective cost control across the business.
  • You will monitor performance through regular reporting, governance processes and operational reviews.
  • You will collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, Purchasing and Quality teams to ensure smooth operational delivery.
  • You will lead change initiatives and support the continued development of a positive, high-performance culture.
  • You will champion health, safety and quality standards across the operation.
  • You will build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the business to ensure alignment and successful delivery of business objectives.
This will be suited to you if
  • You have at least 10 years' leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • You've successfully delivered against Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost targets.
  • You've led teams across Production, Logistics, Manufacturing Engineering and Quality functions.
  • You're a confident leader who enjoys developing people and building high-performing teams.
  • You've got a proven track record of delivering productivity improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
  • You're comfortable managing complex operational challenges in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • You have strong stakeholder management skills and can build effective relationships across operations, engineering, purchasing and senior leadership teams.
  • You have experience leading organisational change and driving cultural improvement.

  • You have experience within automotive, off-highway, industrial or heavy manufacturing environments.
  • You're passionate about continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles.
  • You've led large-scale operational improvement or transformation projects.
  • You bring strong commercial awareness and operational budget management experience.
  • You have experience developing future leaders and creating succession plans within operational teams.
  • You're motivated by delivering measurable results while building an engaged and high-performing workforce.
