As we continue to expand our client base nationwide, we're looking for an experienced, driven senior manager to lead our cleaning services function and help shape the next stage of our growth.
Role PurposeThe Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day leadership of SOS Group's commercial cleaning operations across a portfolio of client sites. You will build strong, lasting client relationships, lead and develop a team of area managers and cleaning operatives, and ensure every contract is delivered to the highest standard of quality, compliance and profitability. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives on solving problems, mobilising new business and driving operational excellence.
Main Responsibilities Client & Contract Management- Develop and maintain effective client relationships, ensuring regular liaison so that standards, audits, KPIs and management reports consistently reflect the level of service the client expects.
- Mobilise new contracts, ensuring a smooth, well-planned transition from award to full operational delivery.
- Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure and continuously improve the effectiveness and efficiency of operations.
- Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on operational performance.
- Successfully manage and lead the commercial cleaning team, ensuring the growth and profitable operation of the business.
- Train, supervise and organise replacement cover where needed, ensuring continuity of service at all times.
- Arrange and carry out induction and 'on the job' training with cleaning operatives, ensuring all employees are trained to the required standard.
- Monitor attendance, sick leave, holiday requests and timesheets.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback and develop improvement plans to enhance team performance.
- Work alongside other operations managers and key internal stakeholders delivering service excellence to our clients nationwide.
- Oversee cleaning services operations across a diverse commercial portfolio nationwide, ensuring area managers are supported and departments are running smoothly.
- Create and enforce policies and procedures that enhance operational efficiency.
- Control and monitor the correct use of appropriate cleaning materials across client sites.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and innovations, incorporating relevant technologies and practices into operations.
- Provide a safe working environment for employees on client sites.
- Co-operate and co-ordinate with clients on site health and safety matters.
- Comply with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 QE Management System requirements performing work in line with process documents and procedures, and maintaining department forms and records as required.
- Understand and apply SOS Group's Quality and Environmental policy statements in all aspects of your work.
- Ensure the needs of internal staff and customers are understood and delivered.
- Help develop and improve internal processes and the management system by reporting corrective actions, updates and improvement ideas.

What We're Looking For Education- Diploma or Bachelors degree preferable
- Full, valid driver's licence required.
- Proven experience in the cleaning or facilities management industry is essential.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of managing busy, dynamic teams.
- Excellent customer service skills and a genuine commitment to client satisfaction.
- Confident communicator, comfortable liaising with clients and presenting to senior management.
- Well organised, solutions-focused, and calm under the pressure of a fast-moving, multi-site operation.
