The project:

The Sizewell C Project requires an experienced Logistics Lead to drive the delivery of logistics for the Civil Works programme, working in collaboration with the Works Alliance (CWA) and Site Operation teams.

This role leads the Logistics function for the project, which supports the Delivery Teams. The Logistics Team focuses on developing facilities, processes, and arrangements necessary to support construction within the MCA and optimizing working arrangements for economic efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Define the interface between the Sizewell Site Delivery team and the CWA, including handover arrangements for ACA & TCA.
• Understand project requirements to establish the support provided by the Logistics team.
• Provide expertise in logistics management, drawing from industry best practices, including lessons learned from HPC and HS2.
• Manage provision of Labour, Plant, Materials, Accommodation, Security, Transportation, Emergency Arrangements, and Off Site storage.
• Coordinate with the Sizewell Site Delivery team on logistics-related issues such as access, accommodation, security, traffic management, and capability communication.
• Create and manage the budget for the Logistics Function, including staffing, premises, and services.
• Oversee and be accountable for the delivery performance of Mace Logistics, including risk management and supply chain development.
• Ensure understanding of the ML service offer within Construct & Consult.
• Support bid management and estimating processes to secure opportunities.
• Implement risk management procedures during operational delivery.
• Manage client briefs, develop action plans, and foster client relationships.
• Act as the single point of contact for business customers and implement tailored business solutions.
• Maintain relationships with supply chain partners and develop procurement strategies.
• Provide performance feedback on suppliers, ensure environmental targets are met, and lead contract teams.
• Coach and lead production staff, set targets, and ensure health, safety, environmental, and quality policies are followed.
• Deliver service levels, facilitate lessons learned, and implement reporting processes.
• Coordinate and submit monthly reports and contribute towards net zero carbon initiatives.

Minimum requirements:

• Relevant experience, with preference for PM/CM backgrounds.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• CSC Accreditation - Black.
• NVQ Level 6 Gold Card.
• Site Managers Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) or equivalent.
• Strong communication skills across management levels.
• Leadership ability for senior logistics teams and managing multicultural workforce.

Additional desirable qualifications:

• CLOCS Practitioner.
• MCIOB membership.
• CILT membership.
• Ability to recognize and make decisions on upskilling opportunities.
• Over 10 years of construction experience.
