Job Description
Consortium Professional Recruitment are pleased to be working with a well established and highly respected international business to recruit a Operations Coordinator. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with logistics experience to join a collaborative operations team responsible for coordinating global shipments and maintaining high service levels across international partners.The Operations Coordinator will play a central role in planning shipments, coordinating stakeholders and ensuring container movements are completed efficiently, accurately and in line with contractual requirements. This role offers variety, responsibility and the opportunity to influence logistics performance within a dynamic trading environment. The Opportunity:As a Operations Coordinator you will play a key role in:
- Planning container loadings and shipments from origin to destination in line with contractual terms and requirements.
- Working closely with internal teams, trading partners, shipping lines and service providers to ensure efficient and timely delivery of shipments.
- Supporting the management of container risks and contributing to operational decision making that protects margin and service levels.
- Using tools such as Power BI and other reporting platforms to analyse operational data, generate insights and support improvements in logistics performance and trading margins.
- Creating and maintaining clear reports and dashboards that provide stakeholders with accurate forecasting, shipment visibility and operational performance insights.
- Monitoring shipments throughout the full lifecycle, resolving operational issues and maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.
- Identifying opportunities to reduce logistics costs while improving service delivery and operational efficiency.
- Experience within container logistics, shipping operations or international supply chain coordination.
- Strong analytical capability with experience using tools such as Power BI, Excel or similar platforms to analyse data, produce reports and support operational improvements.
- Knowledge of shipping documentation such as Bills of Lading, Certificates of Origin, VGM and other export documentation.
- Confidence communicating with internal teams, global partners and service providers.
- Strong problem solving skills and the ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.
- Good geographical awareness and an understanding of global shipping routes and logistics challenges.
- Experience using systems such as SAP or similar logistics platforms would be beneficial.
