Position Title: TDS Operations Analyst III, Corporate Lending Ops and Trade Finance Operations

Department: TD Securities Global Operations, Corporate Lending and Trade Finance

Job Description

Reporting to the Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for servicing a portfolio of high-value corporate and institutional clients across Corporate Lending and Trade Finance Operations, ensuring operational accuracy, timely execution, strong risk management and a high standard of client service.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of Corporate Lending and Trade Finance products, processes and controls, and act as a subject matter expert across both functions.
  • Service a portfolio of high value clients by processing and managing lending and trade finance transactions accurately, within timelines, and in accordance with policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, front office, legal, internal and external partners, and act as a key point of contact on operational and technical matters.
  • Review, authorize and perform secondary checks on transactions as required, including end-of-day controls and resolution of discrepancies to maintain a current and accurate portfolio.
  • Interpret and apply lending agreements, trade finance documentation, ICC rules and relevant internal policies to support sound decision-making and the protection of the Bank's interests.
  • Identify, elevate and help resolve non-standard, complex or high-risk transactions, including potential AML, sanctions, operational or reputational concerns.
  • Support complex client transactions and structures across lending and trade finance products while balancing client needs, control requirements and operational feasibility.
  • Research and investigate operational issues, provide analysis and reporting as needed, and recommend solutions that improve accuracy, efficiency and client experience.
  • Contribute to and lead process improvement, automation and documentation initiatives, including regular review and update of procedures to reflect current practices.
  • Provide guidance, knowledge sharing and cross functional support to team members, and contribute to a collaborative team environment focused on service, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Prioritize and manage workload effectively, provide coverage where required, and lead by example in fostering collaboration across teams.

Job Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in Corporate Lending Operations, Trade Finance Operations, or a comparable banking operations environment with strong operational and financial control requirements.
  • Strong experience managing relationships with high profile or high value clients and delivering a high standard of service in a control focused environment.
  • Ability to read, review and interpret lending agreements, trade finance instruments and related legal or operational documentation.
  • Working knowledge of lending platforms and/or trade finance processing, including deal set up, transaction processing, repayments, fees, guarantees, standby letters of credit, and related servicing activities.
  • Strong understanding of risk management, controls and escalation practices, with knowledge of AML, ATF, sanctions or regulatory requirements relevant to banking operations.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and a collaborative, relationship oriented work style.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and relevant operational systems; experience with LoanIQ, trade finance systems, mainframe applications or reporting tools is an asset.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, International Business, Business Management, Accounting or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Professional designations or certifications such as CDCS, CSDG, finance or accounting credentials are considered an asset.
  • Flexibility to support global clients, including hybrid work expectations and schedule requirements aligned to business needs.

Other Qualifications / Skills / Experience

  • Client facing experience in wholesale banking, corporate lending, trade finance or a comparable environment is an asset.
  • Experience reading legal and operational documentation is an asset.
  • Knowledge of ICC rules, trade finance practices and complex transaction structures is an asset.
  • Commitment to operational excellence, client service and continuous improvement.
