Operational Supervisor

Location: South Oxford

In this role, you will report to the Operations Manager and be responsible for supervising employees and managing resources to effectively collect recycling and general waste, as well as carry out street cleansing activities for the contract. You will ensure all activities comply with the contract requirements, Biffa policies and procedures, industry legislation, and health and safety regulations.

Key responsibilities:

1. Plan and organize daily tasks, including crew deployment, and allocate vehicles, plant, and materials to meet contractual obligations.
2. Prepare and maintain resource schedules for all work programs to ensure adequate staffing, vehicles, and materials are available.
3. Manage day-to-day staff activities, including induction, attendance, and performance management, in line with Biffa policies.
4. Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, attend meetings, conduct joint monitoring and site visits, and identify new revenue opportunities.
5. Maintain records and systems to ensure the smooth operation of the contract.

Essential criteria:

• Experience in leading and supervising teams
• Knowledge of health and safety policies and procedures
• Operational experience in a similar role/environment
• Valid and clean UK driving license
